MURFREESBORO, TN (January 7, 2026) – The Murfreesboro Branch NAACP invites the community to its annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast on Saturday, January 17, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the James Union Building at Middle Tennessee State University, located at 516 Alma Mater Drive.

This inspiring celebration honors the life, legacy, and vision of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., bringing together community leaders, organizations, and citizens to reflect on his enduring message of justice, unity, and service. The event will feature uplifting speakers, music, and special recognitions that embody the spirit Dr. King championed throughout his life.

The breakfast will include the presentation of two prestigious awards: the Jerry Anderson Hero Award and the NAACP Humanitarian Award. These honors celebrate individuals who demonstrate courage, compassion, and a steadfast commitment to positive change in the Murfreesboro community.
As Dr. King once proclaimed, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly affects all indirectly."
